Irish Diploma 2 : The 'Happening' Bunch

A group of 27 students from different background, age and culture started early this year and ended their first semester with an exam on the 8th of April 2017. The characters and bond that this group of Diploma students are exemplary and not to mention their talents as well. Group ID 2 are ever willing to showcase their talents from dancing to singing on any given occasion. They have two more semesters left before reaching the dreams they aspire through Diploma in International Travel Industry Studies. No matter whichever organization they end up with, we are sure that they will be great team players with their respective airlines or airports.

Here are the pictures of the students before starting with us and the after pictures of our ID2. The transformation of these students are the result of training and grooming by our instructors and trainers in making them a world class cabin crew.

As they journey takes place, they are taught on how to interact with others courteously and with confidence. As interaction, communication and appearance should be an important possession of a cabin crew. They always start the class with the Inter-Excel pledge and end the class with their group cheer.

During their first semester, they were exposed to subjects such as airport codes, communication skills, English support and many others too. Among the assignments that were assigned to them is describing their hometown using slides, present on a European country and another assignment that required them to interact with foreigners and of different types of people. In that assignment, students have approached random foreigners and questioned their whereabouts in Malaysia. 

Aside from all the airline knowledge that they have gotten from the fellow trainers, they have also learned the meaning of friendship, togetherness and hard work. They have always been cheerful along with being polite and often help around when needed, especially when they are asked to go to Malaysian school’s career fair or career talk as a student ambassador.
Group Irish Diploma 2 has certainly set the benchmark for the other groups to emulate and we look forward to more students with the right attitude and character.

The successes of our Irish Diploma

We are very happy to announce that our Irish Diploma students (ID1) have completed their course on their way to becoming a cabin crew successfully. They started May 2016 and ended on the 30th of March 2017. They are also the first batch of Irish Diploma students of Kuala Lumpur.

Along the way, we have students that have successfully secured themselves an airline career. Among them are three of our students from ID1, who passed the SATS airport interview. They are Kong Wai Lam from Sungai Siput, Perak, who is now 20 years old. Next is Chew Li Yun from Batu Caves, Selangor, 20 years old. Another one of our successful SATS candidates is Diana Soh, also 20 from Melaka.

Besides that, we are also very proud to have a student from ID1, Nicole Ng Li Shen, 21 years old from Rawang, Selangor who would be pursuing her career with the prestigious Singapore Airlines. She will be reporting in with them this April.

On the 1st of April 2017, 3 students from ID1 have been selected by another airline from Singapore, Scoot Air in an in-house interview conducted in our Kuala Lumpur. They are Lydia Tan Ban Jing from Kuala Lumpur who is 29 years old. Another one is Lee Mun Chek, 19 years old from Kuala Lumpur. Another successful Scoot Air interview candidate is Teh Shu Huoi, 19 years old also from Kuala Lumpur. We are proud to see our students excelling and reaching their dreams.

For those who doesn't know who is he, he is our student from Inter Excel Penang who has passed Scoot Air Interview recently. 

So, how has Inter-Excel Advisory helped you?

Ammar : I am very grateful and thankful for joining Inter-Excel in the first place. If it wasn't for Inter-Excel, I wouldn't have had this chance to become a cabin crew in Tiger Airways. I have to admit that I have learnt so much from Inter-Excel. Before joining Inter-Excel, I was undecided in life as I did not know if I should continue studying or start working after SPM. However, through the guidance of Inter-Excel, I am proud to say that my character and image have been shaped and molded in order to get one of the highest paid job in the world, a cabin crew.

6 Qualities Cabin Crew Recruiters Are Looking For

1.  Empathy

Empathy shouldn’t just be towards passengers but also towards co-workers.

On the day of the interview, show kindness to the other applicants. Smile. Talk. Help.

Give way to other applicants. Don’t ever try to put someone else down just so you could shine.

2.  Customer Service Orientation

You’ll be asked a lot of problem solving questions. Whenever you answer one, always keep the customer your top priority.

3.  Adaptability

Your plans to spend a weekend with loved ones could be an improbability due to changes in your roster. You’ll have standby duties and may have to be ready for duty within 20 minutes of being called. You’re definitely going to experience flight delays and cancellations.

You may expect to have 30 minutes to do your preflight ground duties but now you only have 5 minutes. You may not have all the resources you had expected to perform a job correctly. But you’ll have to be able to make it happen nonetheless.

4.  Teamwork and Communication

As cabin crew, you’ll work in teams of people you may have never met before. You’ll have to show recruiters that you’re very capable of working with total strangers towards achieving a common goal.

5.  Cultural Awareness

As mentioned above you’ll be working with a different set of team every time you go to work. If you work for a multinational airline like the ones in the Middle East, you’re bound to be sharing the workplace with people of other nationalities.

Cultures and ideals might sound absolutely strange to you but you’ll have to put all these aside and work together as one unit.

6.  Grooming and Grace

Flight attendants are the image of an airline. You must look the part.

Your grooming should be impeccable and your posture graceful. You’ll be working long hours and have to look just as fresh at the end of the flight as you did at the start.

Throughout the interview, keep a confident and poised demeanor. Watch for you grooming from your hair to your finger nails. Standards are really high in the airline business.
